Q- What is WhatsUpBahrain all about?

A- WhatsUpBahrain is an online events portal that allows users to search and learn about events happening in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition, users can contribute to the collective database by publishing their own upcoming public events.


Q- How do I search for events?

There are several ways to do so:

  • On the top menu, you will find an item called "Events", clicking on it will show you all events happening this month.
  • Below the menu, you can select any month; this will display all events on the selected month.
  • On the homepage, you will see a tab listing events happening today, this week and this month.
  • On the mid-right section of the homepage, you can search for events by Date, Category, Venue or Keywords. You can also filter the results page with further searches.
  • Throughout the website, you will be presented with a Tag Cloud; each Tag represents a keyword that links you to specific event. You can click on any tag from the Tag Cloud.

Q- What is the Tag Cloud?

A- Tags are unique keywords that you can use to search or specify events in WhatsUpBahrain.net.

Typical things are hobbies, bands, books, genres, activities, products, artists, authors and even cuisines. Unlike our predefined categories there is no limit on the tags you can use, but you will find that the more people that use the same tag to describe the same thing the more meaningful the results will be.


Q- I know about an event that is not published in WhatsUpBahrain yet. How do I publish it here?

A- Easy! Click on the "Publish an Event" item at the top menu, or on the "Publish it here..." link on the mid-right section of the homepage. All you have to do is fill the form, and we will do the rest. This will go through the verification process, and once we make sure it is legit, we will publish it.


Q- I submitted an event, but I can't see it in WhatsUpBahrain.net.

A- We are either still in the process of verifying the legitimacy of the event, or the request has been rejected. You can always contact us for clarification.


Q- I am an event organizer, and often need to upload events and photo galleries, how can I apply for an "Organizer" account?

A- Leave us a comment with all your details and who you are representing, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.


Q- I am adding an event, and want to get the latitude and longitude coordinates for the venue? How can I do it?

A- If you're browsing Google Maps and want to know the coordinates of a location, just right-click on the map and select "What's here?". The coordinates will automatically pop up in the search box.


Q- How can I be a part of the WhatsUpBahrain team?

A- We are currently looking for volunteer photographers to join our team, and be recognized on our website. If you are interested, please send your CV to khalid@whatsupbahrain.net.
