As part of Dr Ali Harb's participation in the cultural programme for the month of literature, he will present a workshop entitled 'Identity and Truth' in which he will discuss cultural identity. Audiences will be encouraged to examine their self-perceptions through the ensuing dialogue which will revolve around his philosophical notions. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, this talk will take place on Wednesday, 25th July at 8pm in the Bahrain National Museum.
About Dr Ali Harb A Lebanese writer and researcher who specialises in philosophy, he is known to be influenced by the critical theory of deconstruction, first developed by the acclaimed French philosopher, Jacques Derrida. Some of his notable publications are Discourse of Identity: an Intellectual Autobiography, Critics of the Text and Mankind: the Disease of Religion and the Obstacle of Modernity.
